Patricia Freeman - How We respond to our Students' Different Learning Styles - Roundtable Discussions

To 'jump-start' our round table discussion Patricia will prepare short profiles of some of her students.  She will discuss some of the various techniques she has employed in teaching the particular student in order to optimize   his chances for success in his piano studies.  The participants will contribute suggestions as to how they might approach this same student.  Through the sharing of ideas from each of our unique arsenal of techniques that we utilize in teaching different kinds of learners, some creative and novel solutions will emerge.

Patricia Freeman studied piano piano at at University of Toronto, Julliard and Fontainebleau, France, and graduated from The New School of Music, Philadelphia, where she was a student of Vladimir Sokoloff.  She teaches privately in Jenkintown, and has held the Arthur Judson Distinguished Faculty Chair in Piano at Settlement School of Music.   In 2000 Ms. Freeman was awarded the “Teacher of the Year” Award of the Pennsylvania Music Teachers.
